Keynote Speaker

Samantha Ramirez Herrera — Living Outloud

Living Outloud is a keynote focused on inspiring students to live boldly and unapologetically.  Samantha Ramirez-Herrera will share personal experiences from growing up in a traditional immigrant Mexican home and culture where her voice as a young woman was often not heard or taken into consideration.  She will also share bits and pieces of her journey as an immigrant in America and her fears of not belonging or having a right to speak up. She will share her own discovery of self and how she found the courage to speak up about being an undocumented immigrant and becoming empowered by owning her truth boldly.  In this keynote, Sam will focus on inspiring students to speak up about what matters to them and to embrace their truths without apologies.  This keynote will focus on inspiring students to discover their power, live boldly and loudly.

How is ACLC going to work with COVID-19?

The All-Campus Leadership Conference will be delivered virtually via Zoom. We are excited to offer this conference, even during a pandemic. We will be utilizing breakout rooms, and large group Zoom features to deliver our high-quality programming.

I don't have access to wifi or a laptop. Can I still participate?

Yes!! Please take advantage of the UW-Madison Libraries’ resources for equipment checkout for things such as computers and chargers. For spatial and wifi needs, take advantage of the UW-Madison Unions(Memorial Union and Union South) as well as other campus buildings.

Why should I attend ACLC?

All-Campus Leadership Conference is a great way to develop and enhance your leadership skills and network with others who are also interested in becoming a better leader

What is SLP?

SLP stands for Student Leadership Program. We are a student organization here at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Our mission is “to develop effective and essential leadership skills in students and student groups through comprehensive leadership education and diverse experiences”.

What is the Leadership Certificate?

The Leadership Certificate is a program designed for student leaders who excel in their leadership roles both inside and outside the classroom. The Certificate marks a formal acknowledgment of student contributions and achievement. Learn about the Leadership Certificate at this year’s ACLC.

I'm looking for more leadership opportunities, what opportunities are there?

Student Leadership Program has 22 leadership positions available each semester. After becoming a member of SLP, you can apply to be a chair, apprentice, or coordinator.

I want to attend more leadership workshops. When is the next one?

SLP hosts many events throughout the year including Badger Professional Development Network, Social Change and Inclusivity, Bucky’s Awards Ceremony, and Student Consultants and Speakers Bureau. Click here for the SLP events calendar and here for the Center for Leadership Involvement events calendar.
